Al-Sharh (The Expansion)

Translation

Verses 1-8

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ (1)

Did We not expand for you, your chest?
[Al Quran ; 94:1]

وَوَضَعْنَا عَنْكَ وِزْرَكَ (2)

And We removed from you, your burden.
[Al Quran ; 94:2]

الَّذِي أَنْقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ (3)

Which weighed down your back.
[Al Quran ; 94:3]

وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ (4)

And We raised for you, your remembrance.
[Al Quran ; 94:4]

فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا (5)

For indeed, with hardship (will be) ease.
[Al Quran ; 94:5]

إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا (6)

Indeed, with hardship (will be) ease.
[Al Quran ; 94:6]

فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْ (7)

So when you have finished (your duties), then stand up (for prayer).
[Al Quran ; 94:7]

وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ (8)

And to your Lord, desire.
[Al Quran ; 94:8]
