Al-Takathur (Multiplication)
Translation
Verses 1-8
بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ (1)
Multiplication has distracted you.
[Al Quran ; 102:1]
حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ (2)
Until you have visited the graves.
[Al Quran ; 102:2]
كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ (3)
No! You are going to know.
[Al Quran ; 102:3]
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ (4)
Then no! You are going to know.
[Al Quran ; 102:4]
كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ الْيَقِينِ (5)
No! If you only knew with the knowledge of certainty.
[Al Quran ; 102:5]
لَتَرَوُنَّ الْجَحِيمَ (6)
You will surely see the hellfire.
[Al Quran ; 102:6]
ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ الْيَقِينِ (7)
Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.
[Al Quran ; 102:7]
ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ (8)
Then you will be surely asked, on that day, about the pleasure.
[Al Quran ; 102:8]
